Basic Carbine 1

 

This course is designed for the first time carbine shooter. We will cover the basics of marksmanship shooting, building a solid foundation which will increase safety and proficiency with the weapon system. We will progressively increase the difficulty based on shooters comfort level. Once you leave here you should be able to shoot safely and accurately, and have the confidence to enroll in higher levels of training.

Safety brief and safe gun handling procedures and techniques

Fundamentals of shooting

Overview of Carbine, controls, features and maintenance

Gear selection and management, including sling use

Load, unload

Reloads, bolt lock and tactical

Stoppages and malfunctions

Zeroing procedures

Ready positions

 

Speed and progression of training will depend on the number of students and their skill level though the basis of the course will always remain the same

 

GEAR REQUIREMENTS:


Serviceable and zeroed Carbine (preferably with iron sights) and tools necessary to maintain it
2 magazines or the ability to have 20-40 rounds per training iteration

Magazine pouches (chest rig, or body armor will work) 1 belt mounted mag pouch is preferable

Comfortable clothing suitable for standing long periods of time. Open toed shoes or low cut clothing are not acceptable for training.
Hearing and Eye protection (wrap around eye protection recommended)

Sling (preferably double point sling)

Hat

Shooting Mat for prone course of fire. 

 

Ammunition, 100 rounds

 

RENTAL OPTIONS:

 

Gun and gear rentals are available for use during class. Please arrive 30 minutes prior to start time of training to be fitted for proper firearm and gear needed for the class. All firearms rented must be accompanied by our ammo. No outside ammo is allowed through rental firearms.

*Registering for a class constitutes an agreement to attend the class in which you enroll. After your class enrollment tuition payments are not refundable, but those funds may be applied to a future class with at least one week’s advanced notification.
