Prerequisites: Introduction to handgun

 

Course Cost Per couple: $200.00

Class Length: 6 hours  (Includes 1 hour Lunch break)

This class is designed to educate couples on how to defend their home. Participants will learn about everyday preparedness to include situational awareness, mindset and home defense considerations. This class is tailored to local communities and how everyday citizens can be prepared to face the challenges that may arise. Additionally, this class explores other options that can be helpful in the event of a home defense situation to include moving, shooting and communicating. **Introduction to Handgun is required and Intermediate Handgun is highly recommended prior to enrolling in this course**

 

**Students will practically apply skills learned in this class. Including moving, shooting and having to communicate in order to achieve the task at hand.**

 

 

Objectives:

• Review Firearm Safety
• Discuss Legal Terms and Definitions
• Mindset, Situational Awareness, and decision-making considerations
• Considerations when faced with an incident
• Use of cover and concealment
• Discuss Basic medical considerations
• How to avoid becoming a victim

 

Speed and progression of training will depend on the number of students and their skill level. Though the basics of the course will always remain the same

 

GEAR REQUIREMENTS:

• Pistol (Semi-Auto or revolver)
• 2-4 magazines
• Magazine pouch
• Holster highly recommended but not required 
• Comfortable clothing suitable for standing long periods of time. Open toed shoes or low-cut clothing are not acceptable for training.
• Hearing and Eye protection (wrap around eye protection recommended)
• Hat

 

Ammunition, 100-150 rounds

 

*Please arrive 30 minutes prior to the class start time to complete the required range safety waiver and safety video, and to purchase any needed eye or ear protection, ammunition, or to select a rental firearm for use during the class.

 

 

RENTAL OPTIONS:

 

Guns and gear are available for use during the class. 

If students need a firearm, the rental is included in the class cost, but ammunition must be purchased for the firearm at The Range LLC. (Note: depending on ammunition availability, students may bring their own factory-loaded ammunition for use in The Range LLC rental guns.  NO HANDLOADED AMMUNITION ALLOWED IN RENTAL GUNS!)

 

 

 

*Registering for a class constitutes an agreement to attend the class in which you enroll. After your class enrollment tuition payments are not refundable, but those funds may be applied to a future class with at least one week’s advanced notification.
