.Fundamentals of Home Defense.

Do you have a firearm within your home?  Do you expect to be able to use it in an emergency to defend your home and family?  Have you done enough to properly secure your firearms within your home?  Where, When and How will likely threats come from on your property?  Have you thought about how to use a Firearm, Flashlight and Cell phone at the same time?

Combining classroom instruction with range time, you will learn how best to utilize a firearm SAFELY within your home.

 

Objectives:

• Firearms safety
• Securing firearms against unauthorized access
• Selection and use of a flashlight
• Use of cover/concealment
• Laws governing use of force and self-defense, specifically in the home
• Most likely threats faced by homeowners/ criminal mindset
• Considerations for shooting a firearm within YOUR home

There will be a practical shooting time, designed specifically around defensive shooting within the home. 

 

GEAR REQUIREMENTS:

• Pistol and 2 magazines (if revolver it is highly recommended you have at least 1 speed loader)
• Flashlight
• Comfortable clothing suitable for standing long periods of time. Open toed shoes or low cut clothing are not acceptable for training.
• Hearing and Eye protection provided, although you can bring your own (wrap around eye protection recommended)
• Baseball cap is highly recommended (it prevents ejected brass from falling on face and neck)
• Ammunition, 100 rounds

PREREQUISITE:

There is no specific prerequisite for this class, but if you are a new or inexperienced shooter, you would benefit far more from our Basic Handgun Level I class; as little time will be spent on HOW to shoot a pistol.

 

Fundamentals of Home Defense (2 hours) $99

 

RENTAL OPTIONS:

Gun and gear rentals are available for use during class. Please arrive 30 minutes prior to start time of training to be fitted for proper firearm. All firearms rented must be accompanied by our ammo. No outside ammo is allowed through rental firearms.

 

*Registering for a class constitutes an agreement to attend the class in which you enroll. After your class enrollment tuition payments are not refundable, but those funds may be applied to a future class with at least one week’s advanced notification.
